การประชุมเตรียมการสำหรับการประชุม Political Consultations ไทย-ตุรกี ครั้งที่ ๕

          เมื่อวันที่ ๙ และวันที่ ๑๑ มิถุนายน ๒๕๖๔ กรมยุโรปได้จัดการประชุมเตรียมการระหว่างหน่วยงานไทยที่เกี่ยวข้องสำหรับการประชุม Political Consultations ไทย-ตุรกี ครั้งที่ ๕ ผ่านระบบการประชุมทางไกลโดยมีนางจุฬามณี ชาติสุวรรณ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เป็นประธานการประชุมเตรียมการฯ ในประเด็นด้านความมั่นคงและได้มอบหมายให้รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป (นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก) เป็นประธานการประชุมเตรียมการฯ ด้านเศรษฐกิจและสังคม ที่ประชุมได้ใช้เวทีดังกล่าวหารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือที่เป็นรูปธรรมระหว่างไทยและตุรกีในมิติต่างๆ อาทิ ความมั่นคง เศรษฐกิจ และการลงทุน วัฒนธรรม การศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี และอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ  

          การประชุม Political Consultations ถือเป็นกลไกสำคัญของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสำหรับพัฒนา ติดตามและขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับตุรกีอย่างรอบด้าน โดยการประชุม ครั้งที่ ๕ มีกำหนดจัดขึ้นในวันที่ ๒ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๔ ผ่านระบบการประชุมทางไกล และมีอธิบดีกรมยุโรป กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และนาง Esra Cankorur เอกอัครราชทูตและรักษาการอธิบดีกรมเอเชีย-แปซิฟิก กระทรวงการต่างประเทศตุรกีเป็นประธานร่วม นอกจากนี้ การประชุมฯ ครั้งที่ ๕ มีวัตถุประสงค์สำคัญเพื่อพิจารณาเตรียมการจัดการประชุม Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation (JETC) ครั้งที่ ๔ ระหว่างไทยกับตุรกี

Preparatory Meetings for the 5^th Thai-Turkish Political Consultations

           On 9 June 2021 and 11 June 2021, the Department of European Affairs organised the preparatory meetings for the 5^th Thai-Turkish Political Consultations via video conference. Mrs.Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs chaired the preparatory meeting on security issues and entrusted Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs to chair the preparatory meeting on economic and social issues. The meetings provided an opportunity for relevant Thai agencies to discuss ways and means to further reinforce cooperation between Thailand and Turkey in areas of mutual interest, including trade and investment, culture, education, science and technology, as well as defence industry.

          The Political Consultations is an important mechanism for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both countries to advance and strengthen cooperation between Thailand and Turkey. The 5^th Political Consultations is scheduled to take place on 2 July 2021 via video conference and to be co-chaired by the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and Mrs. Esra Cankorur, Ambassador and the Acting Director-General for Asia-Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey. The 5^th Political Consultations is also aimed at preparing the groundwork for the 4^th Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation.
