เมื่อวันที่ 1 ตุลาคม 2569 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เป็นประธานการประชุมโต๊ะกลม (Roundtable Meeting) ร่วมกับนาง Monika Hencsey อธิบดีด้านการทูตสีเขียวและพหุภาคีนิยม กระทรวงสิ่งแวดล้อม สหภาพยุโรป โดยมีนางลุยซา ราแกร์ เอกอัครราชทูตสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย และคณะ และผู้แทนหน่วยงานไทยเข้าร่วมด้วย

อธิบดีกรมยุโรปกล่าวถึงพัฒนาการของฝ่ายไทยในการยกระดับกฎหมายภายในของไทย และการทำงานร่วมกัน
ของภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน เพื่อยกระดับมาตรฐานของภาคธุรกิจไทยให้สอดคล้องกับกฎระเบียบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมของสหภาพยุโรป โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งกฎระเบียบว่าด้วยบรรจุภัณฑ์และขยะบรรจุภัณฑ์ (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations: PPWR) ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของไทยในการเข้าเป็นสมาชิกองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: OECD) ในอนาคต

ขณะที่อธิบดีด้านการทูตสีเขียวและพหุภาคีนิยม สหภาพยุโรป กล่าวว่าการเยือนไทยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อยกระดับความร่วมมือระหว่างกันและเป็นโอกาสในการหารือแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นในประเด็นด้านเศรษฐกิจและสิ่งแวดล้อม พร้อมทั้งแจ้งพัฒนาการเกี่ยวกับกฎระเบียบ PPWR นาง Monikaได้ชื่นชมการดำเนินการของฝ่ายไทยในส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับกฎระเบียบว่าด้วยสินค้าปลอดการตัดไม้ทำลายป่าของสหภาพยุโรป (EU Deforestation Regulation: EUDR) และพัฒนาแนวทางความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน

Director-General of the Department of European Affairs co-chairs a roundtable meeting with the Director-General for Green Diplomacy and Multilateralism, Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV), European Commission

On 1 October 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired a roundtable meeting with Ms. Monika Hencsey, Director,Green Diplomacy and Multilateralism, Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV), European Commission. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Ms. Luisa Ragher, Ambassador of the European Union to Thailand, and her delegation, as well as representatives of relevant Thai agencies.

The Director-General of the Department of European Affairs highlighted Thailand’s progress in strengthening its legal framework and fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors to elevate the standards of Thai businesses in line with the European Union’s environmental regulations, particularly the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). These efforts reflect Thailand’s commitment to pursuing membership of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in the future

EU’s Director for Green Diplomacy and Multilateralism noted that the main objectives of her visit were to further strengthen cooperation with Thailand and to exchange views on economic and environmental issues with Thai agencies as well as to provided updates on the PPWR. She commended Thailand’s efforts in relation to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and cooperation on circular economy.
