เมื่อวันที่ 28 ตุลาคม 2569 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก อธิบดีกรมยุโรป พบหารือกับนางสาวลูย์ดมีลา โวโรบีวา (Lyudmila Vorobieva) อธิบดีกรมเอเชียที่ 3 กระทรวงการต่างประเทศรัสเซีย
ตามแผนหารือระหว่างกระทรวงการต่างประเทศไทย-รัสเซีย วาระปี 2569 – 2573 (ฉบับที่ 6) ซึ่งเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือระหว่างสองประเทศ

ทั้งสองฝ่ายหารือการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจ การเมือง และสังคม รวมถึงด้านเกษตรและอาหาร วิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรม และวัฒนธรรม การท่องเที่ยว และกีฬาเพื่อรักษาพลวัตความสัมพันธ์หลังการประชุมคณะกรรมาธิการร่วมว่าด้วยความร่วมมือทวิภาคีไทย-รัสเซีย ครั้งที่ 9 และเพื่อเตรียมการสำหรับการเฉลิมฉลองครบรอบ 130 ปีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างไทยกับรัสเซียในปี 2570 ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันยาวนานระหว่างสองประเทศ และจะมีการจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกันเพื่อเฉลิมฉลองวาระดังกล่าว

นอกจากนั้น ยังเห็นพ้องที่จะผลักดันความร่วมมือในมิติต่าง ๆ ที่เป็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมกัน และ ส่งเสริมการติดต่อระหว่างภาคเอกชน และขยายการแลกเปลี่ยนด้านประชาชนต่อประชาชน
ทั้งในด้านการท่องเที่ยว ความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษา วัฒนธรรม และกีฬา เพื่อกระชับความสัมพันธ์ในทุกมิติให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในประเด็นภูมิภาค

Director-General of the Department of European affairs meets with Director of the Third Asian Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

On 28 October 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with H.E. Mrs. Lyudmila Vorobieva, Director of the Third Asian Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. This bilateral consultation was organized as part of the 6th Plan of Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the Russian Federation (2026 - 2030), which serves as a key mechanism for advancing cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides discussed ways to promote cooperation in the economic, political and social fields, as well as in agriculture and food, science, technology and innovation, and culture, tourism and sports. The discussions aimed to carry on the momentum of relations following the 9th Session of the Thailand - Russia Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JC 9), and to prepare for the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Russia in 2027. The anniversary is regarded as a key milestone for strengthening the longstanding ties between the two countries, and joint activities will be organized to mark the occasion.

The two sides also agreed to advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, promote engagement between the private sectors, and expand people-to-people exchanges, including in tourism, education, culture and sports, in order to further strengthen the relationship in all dimensions. They also exchanged views on regional issues of common interest.
