เมื่อวันที่ 19 พฤศจิกายน 2568 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป และนาย Mario Ronconi, Head of Unit for South and Southeast Asia, Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) เป็นประธานร่วมการประชุมคณะทำงานผู้เชี่ยวชาญไทย-สหภาพยุโรป ด้านการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนและการเปลี่ยนผ่านสีเขียว ครั้งที่ 1 ณ กรุงบรัสเซลส์ เบลเยียม ซึ่งจัดขึ้นแบบไฮบริด โดยในส่วนของฝ่ายไทยมีหน่วยงานไทยที่เกี่ยวข้องกว่า 15 หน่วยงานเข้าร่วม

   การประชุมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือไทย–สหภาพยุโรปในด้านการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน และยกระดับความร่วมมือด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและการเปลี่ยนผ่านสีเขียว ภายใต้กลไกการประชุมคณะกรรมการร่วมไทย-สหภาพยุโรป (Joint Committee: JC) และกรอบความตกลงว่าด้วยความเป็นหุ้นส่วนและความร่วมมือรอบด้านระหว่างไทย-สหภาพยุโรป (Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement: PCA) มีผลบังคับใช้ไปพลางก่อนตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคม 2567

   ที่ประชุมได้ทบทวนความร่วมมือในด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ร่วมมือกันในระยะที่ผ่านมา อาทิ กฎระเบียบว่าด้วยสินค้าปลอดการตัดไม้ทำลายป่า (EUDR) มาตรการปรับคาร์บอนก่อนข้ามพรมแดน (CBAM) และมาตรการอื่น ๆ ภายใต้ European Green Deal รวมถึงหารือถึงความเป็นไปได้ของการสร้างความร่วมมือด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมในกรอบใหม่ ๆ อาทิ เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน และการเงินเพื่อความยั่งยืน นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือถึงแนวทางการสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาในระดับภูมิภาคในด้านการสนับสนุนการดำเนินงานขององค์กรภาคประชาสังคม ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้เน้นย้ำถึงความร่วมมือผ่านการสนับสนุนจากโครงการ Global Gateway ได้แก่ โครงการ ASEAN Power Grid โครงการ Chao Phraya Flood Prevention และความร่วมมือด้านเชื้อเพลิงอากาศยานยั่งยืน (SAF)

Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired the 1^st Thai-EU Specialised Working Group on Sustainable Development and Green Transition in Brussels.

   On 19 November 2025, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mr. Mario Ronconi, Head of Unit for South and Southeast Asia, Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), co-chaired the 1st Thai-EU Specialised Working Group on Sustainable Development and Green Transition in Brussels, Belgium. The meeting was held in a hybrid format with participants from more than 15 relevant Thai agencies.

   The meeting aims to strengthen Thailand–EU cooperation in environmental sustainability, sustainable development, and working towards a green transition under the Thailand–EU Joint Committee (JC) mechanism and the Thailand–EU Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA), which provisionally applied since October 2024.

   The meeting took stock of on-going environmental cooperation, including the EU Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), as well as other measures under the European Green Deal. The two sides also explored opportunities to develop new areas of environmental cooperation, such as circular economy and sustainable finance. In addition, both sides exchanged views on enhancing regional development cooperation, particularly in support of civil society organisations.

   Both sides also underscored ongoing cooperation through support under the Global Gateway initiative, including the ASEAN Power Grid project, the Chao Phraya Flood Prevention project, and cooperation on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
