การจัดกิจกรรม ASEM Day ประจำปี 2566 ที่วิทยาลัยนานาชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล

        ASEM Day ตรงกับวันที่ 1 มีนาคมของทุกปี ซึ่งเป็นวันครบรอบการก่อกำเนิดของการประชุมเอเชีย-ยุโรป (Asia-Europe Meeting: ASEM) เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2539 ที่กรุงเทพฯ ซึ่งยังคงเป็นกรอบการประชุมระหว่างผู้นำเอเชียกับยุโรปเพียงกรอบเดียวจนถึงทุกวันนี้

        เพื่อเฉลิมฉลอง ASEM Day ประจำปี 2566 และเพิ่มความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับ ASEM ให้กับเยาวชนไทย กรมยุโรปและคณะ International Relations and Global Affairs วิทยาลัยนานาชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล มีกำหนดจัดกิจกรรม ASEM Day ในวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2566 ณ วิทยาลัยนานาชาติมหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล โดยกิจกรรมในปีนี้จะประกอบด้วยการบรรยายให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับ ASEM ซึ่งรวมถึงภูมิหลัง พัฒนาการล่าสุด กลไกการหารือและการตัดสินใจร่วมกันภายใต้กรอบ ASEM ก่อนที่นักศึกษาที่ได้รับคัดเลือกจะได้สวมบทบาทผู้แทนสมาชิก ASEM เข้าร่วมการจำลองการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโส ASEM เพื่อเจรจาเอกสารผลลัพท์การประชุมรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศ ASEM ทั้งนี้ เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมได้สัมผัสถึงความท้าทายของการประชุมระหว่างประเทศ และเสริมสร้างความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์
ระหว่างภูมิภาคเอเชียกับยุโรป ตลอดจนส่งเสริมความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับ ASEM ให้เพิ่มมากขึ้น

ASEM Day 2023 at Mahidol University International College

        ASEM Day is celebrated on 1 March every year to commemorate the founding of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) on 1 March 1996, when the 1^st ASEM Summit was held in Bangkok. To this day, ASEM remains the only dialogue forum for Asian and European Leaders to convene.

        To celebrate ASEM Day 2023 and raise the awareness of ASEM among Thai youths, the Department of European Affairs and the Department of International Relations and Global Affairs, Mahidol University International College, will organise an ASEM Day event on 1 March 2023 at Mahidol University International College. Perticipants to the event will learn about how ASEM came to be, the latest developments, and the ASEM process, before selected students will participate in a simulation of an ASEM Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) to negotiate the outcome document of an ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting. Such activity will raise students’ awareness about ASEM and allow the participants to learn about international meetings and Asia-Europe relations.
