การหารือระหว่างอธิบดีกรมยุโรปกับอธิบดีด้านอินโด-แปซิฟิก: เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และแปซิฟิก

เมื่อวันที่ ๗ เมษายน ๒๕๖๕ นายอสิ ม้ามณี อธิบดีกรมยุโรป ได้หารือกับนาง Joelle Jenny อธิบดีด้านอินโด-แปซิฟิก: เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้และแปซิฟิก กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ สหราชอาณาจักร ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ โดยมีผู้แทนฝ่ายไทย ได้แก่ น.ส. ปรารถนา ดิษยทัต ผู้อำนวยการกองยุโรปตะวันตก และเจ้าหน้าที่กองยุโรปตะวันตก และผู้แทนฝ่ายสหราชอาณาจักร ได้แก่ นายมาร์ก กุดดิง เอกอัครราชทูตสหราชอาณาจักรประจำประเทศไทย และเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหราชอาณาจักรฯ เข้าร่วมด้วย

ทั้งสองฝ่ายเน้นย้ำความเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ที่ยาวนานระหว่างไทยกับสหราชอาณาจักร และความร่วมมือระหว่างกันในหลากหลายสาขา และยินดีที่ผู้แทนระดับสูงของสหราชอาณาจักรเดินทางเยือนไทยในช่วงที่ผ่านมา กล่าวคือ (๑) นางเอลิซาเบท ทรัสส์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เมื่อเดือนพฤศจิกายน ๒๕๖๔ (๒) นางอะแมนดา มิลลิง รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ (ด้านเอเชีย) เมื่อเดือนมกราคม ๒๕๖๕ และ (๓) Baroness Goldie รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงกลาโหม เมื่อเดือนมีนาคม ๒๕๖๕

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้รับทราบความคืบหน้าการจัดการหารือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ไทย - สหราชอาณาจักร ครั้งที่ ๔ และการประชุมคณะกรรมการร่วมด้านเศรษฐกิจและการค้าไทย - สหราชอาณาจักร ครั้งที่ ๑ ซึ่งมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นที่กรุงลอนดอน ในเดือนมิถุนายน ศกนี้ เพื่อผลักดันผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันแม้ในห้วงสถานการณ์ที่มีความท้าทาย นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการล่าสุดในระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก รวมถึงวิกฤตการณ์ในยูเครนและการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมของไทยต่อยูเครน ซึ่งทั้งสองฝ่ายยืนยันความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันในการระงับข้อพิพาทโดยสันติวิธี รวมถึงกระบวนการทางการทูตและกฎระเบียบระหว่างประเทศ

Meeting between the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and the Director Indo-Pacific: South East Asia and Pacific at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom

H.E. Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, had a meeting with H.E. Ms. Joelle Jenny, Director Indo-Pacific: South East Asia and Pacific at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom on 7 April 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. Also present were representatives from the Thai side, namely Ms. Pratana Disyatat, Director of Western Europe Division and the Division’s official; and the United Kingdom side, namely H.E. Mr. Mark Gooding, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Thailand and the Embassy’s diplomats.

Both sides reaffirmed the enduring strategic partnership between Thailand and the United Kingdom and the multi-faceted cooperation across a variety of sectors. They welcomed the recent visits to Thailand of many high-level representatives from the United Kingdom, including H.E. Ms. Elizabeth Truss, Foreign Secretary, in November 2021; H.E. Ms. Amanda Milling, Minister of State for Asia in January 2022; and H.E. Baroness Goldie, Minister of State for Defence, in March 2022.

Both sides also acknowledged the progress made in the preparations for the upcoming of the 4th Thailand - United Kingdom Strategic Dialogue and the 1st Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO), to be held in London in June 2022 in order to push forward both countries’ common interests despite challenging times. In addition, both sides engaged in a wide-ranging exchange of views on latest regional and global developments regarding the situation in Ukraine and Thailand’s humanitarian assistance contribution to Ukraine. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to finding a peaceful settlement of disputes, including through diplomatic processes and adherence to rules-based international order.
