เมื่อวันที่ ๒๕ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๔ นายตีแยรี มาตู (Thierry Mathou) ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนางจุฬามณี ชาติสุวรรณ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป ในโอกาสที่เอกอัครราชทูตฯ เข้ารับหน้าที่ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายย้ำความมุ่งมั่นการยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ไทย-ฝรั่งเศส สู่การเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางยุทธศาสตร์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งผ่านการจัดทำ Roadmap ซึ่งให้ความสำคัญต่อการดำเนินแผนงานที่เป็นรูปธรรมในรอบด้าน อาทิ ความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคง การค้าและการลงทุน การศึกษา ความสัมพันธ์ระดับประชาชน ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนา

ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือในช่วงสถานการณ์โควิด-๑๙ โดยเฉพาะวัคซีนป้องกันโควิด-๑๙  และเห็นพ้องต่อความสำคัญในการฟื้นฟูการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย-สหภาพยุโรป (Thai-EU FTA)

On 25 May 2021, H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.   Both sides stressed ambition to elevate relations between Thailand and France into a strategic level, in particular through the Roadmap on Thai-French Relations. This Roadmap will include concrete projects in wide-ranging areas encompassing cooperation on security, trade and investment, education, people-to-people exchanges, and development cooperation.

Both sides further discussed cooperation in the COVID-19 time, in particular vaccines against COVID-19 and agreed on the importance of the resumption of Thai-EU FTA negotiations.
