Belarus Launches Direct Flights to Bangkok and Phuket, Strengthening Thailand–Belarus Connectivity and Creating New Opportunities for Trade and Investment.

On 26 October 2026, Ms. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at the launch ceremony for Belavia’s new direct round-trip air routes between Minsk and Bangkok, and between Minsk and Phuket. The event was held at Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 and attended by a large number of representatives from the diplomatic corps, government agencies, and the private sector.

The launch of these direct air routes marks an important development in strengthening connectivity between Thailand and Belarus in the areas of travel, tourism, and business engagement. The new services will make travel between the two countries more convenient, facilitate people-to-people exchanges, and support the expansion of cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Minsk–Bangkok–Minsk route will operate once a week on Sundays, while the Minsk–Phuket–Minsk route will operate twice a week. These services will provide travellers with additional options for travel between Thailand and Belarus and may also facilitate onward travel to other destinations through relevant air networks.

Thailand and Belarus enjoy cordial relations and have considerable potential to expand cooperation in various fields, particularly trade, investment, tourism, and private-sector engagement. The enhanced air connectivity is expected to facilitate business networking, create new economic opportunities, and promote closer contacts between business communities in both countries.

Furthermore, enhanced connectivity between Thailand and Belarus presents an opportunity to further advance economic cooperation within the multilateral framework, particularly by promoting discussions on a possible free trade agreement (FTA) between Thailand and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), of which Belarus is a member. Such efforts could provide opportunities for Thailand and EAEU member states to explore avenues for expanding trade and investment in the long term.
