เมื่อวันที่ 9 ตุลาคม 2569 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก อธิบดีกรมยุโรป ได้พบหารือกับนาง Nora Delaney เอกอัครราชทูตไอร์แลนด์ประจำประเทศไทย ในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ติดตามความคืบหน้าการดำเนินความร่วมมืออันเป็นผลจากการประชุมหารือทวิภาคี (Bilateral Consultations) ไทย - ไอร์แลนด์ ครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเมื่อเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2568 โดยเฉพาะการส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนระดับสูง และการขยายความร่วมมือสาขาสำคัญ ได้แก่ ดิจิทัล ความมั่นคงปลอดภัยทางไซเบอร์ และการศึกษา นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือเกี่ยวกับความคืบหน้าของการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย–สหภาพยุโรป และกระบวนการเข้าเป็นสมาชิกองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development: OECD) ของไทย โดยฝ่ายไอร์แลนด์ยืนยันการสนับสนุนไทยในการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD และความพร้อมที่จะสนับสนุนการเสริมสร้างศักยภาพด้านการศึกษา

Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty

On 9 October 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with H.E. Ms. Nora Delaney, Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, on the occasion of the Ambassador’s assumption of duty.

Both sides followed up on the outcomes of the 2nd Thailand–Ireland Bilateral Consultations, held in November 2025, particularly on promoting high-level exchanges and expanding cooperation in key areas, including digital technology, cybersecurity, and education. Both sides also discussed progress in the Thailand–EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations and Thailand’s accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The Irish side expressed its support for Thailand’s OECD accession and readiness to assist Thailand in capacity-building in the field of education.
