เมื่อวันที่ 7 ก.พ. 2567 รศ. ดร.สุวิทย์ แซ่เตีย อธิการบดีและคณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี (มจธ.) เชิญนางสาวมารินี สุวรรณโมลี รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรปและนายยูริ ยาร์วียาโฮ เอกอัครราชทูตฟินแลนด์ประจำประเทศไทย เข้าศึกษาดูงานและหารือถึงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการไทย-ฟินแลนด์ ซึ่งเป็นการต่อยอดผลการดำเนินโครงการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจ วิทยาศาสตร์และนวัตกรรมไทย-ฟินแลนด์ ซึ่งกรมยุโรปจัดขึ้นเมื่อเดือน ก.ย. 2566 🇹🇭🇫🇮

การหารือเป็นไปอย่างสร้างสรรค์ เพื่อกำหนดแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษา วิจัย และนวัตกรรมโดยเฉพาะด้านการพัฒนาสีเขียว อาทิ การผลิตพลังงานจากขยะ แบตเตอรี่ทุติยชีพ และวิศวกรรมชีวการแพทย์ ซึ่งเป็นสาขาที่ มจธ. มีความเชี่ยวชาญ รวมถึงการส่งเสริม startups ไทยเพื่อเข้าสู่ระบบนิเวศนวัตกรรมของฟินแลนด์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม อันเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการส่งเสริมพลวัตความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกันและการร่วมเฉลิมฉลองโอกาสครบรอบ 70 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-ฟินแลนด์ในปี 2567 🤝

(7 February 2024) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia and the executive team of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) invited Ms. Marinee Suwanmoli, Deputy-Director General of the Department of European Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Jyri Järviaho, the Ambassador of Finland to Thailand, for a study visit and discussions on      Thai-Finnish academic cooperation. This event is a continuation of the successful study visit to Finland by the Department of European Affairs in September 2023, promoting science and economic diplomacy strategy.🇹🇭🇫🇮

The discussions were constructive, centering on fostering cooperation in education, research, and innovation, with a particular focus on green technologies. Key areas of emphasis included waste-to-energy, second-life EV batteries, and biomedical engineering, where KMUTT has expertise, as well as ways to integrate Thai startups into Finland's innovative ecosystem. These discussions play a crucial role in enhancing Thai-Finnish bilateral relations, especially given the timely occasion of commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year. 🤝
