เมื่อวันที่ 17 มีนาคม 2569 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป รักษาการอธิบดีกรมยุโรป ได้พบหารือกับ พล.อ. รังพิรัชต์ แย้มเกษร ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ปฏิบัติการทุ่นระเบิด
ณ ศูนย์ปฏิบัติการทุ่นระเบิดแห่งชาติ โดยมีผู้แทนจากกรมยุโรป กรมเอเชียตะวันออก และกรมองค์การระหว่างประเทศเข้าร่วมด้วย

คณะผู้แทนกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้รับฟังการบรรยายเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินงานและความรับผิดชอบของศูนย์ปฏิบัติการทุ่นระเบิดฯ ตลอดจนสถานะการดำเนินงานเพื่อดำเนินการตามอนุสัญญา
ห้ามทุ่นระเบิดสังหารบุคคลของไทย (“อนุสัญญาออตตาวา”) รวมถึงความท้าทายในการปฏิบัติงานเพื่อเก็บกู้ทุ่นระเบิดเพื่อมนุษยธรรม

ในโอกาสนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือและแลกเปลี่ยนเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินการต่อไปเพื่อเพิ่มพูนความร่วมมือกับมิตรประเทศในภูมิภาคยุโรป เช่น สหภาพยุโรป ลักเซมเบิร์ก นอร์เวย์ อาเซอร์ไบจาน
ด้านการเก็บกู้ทุ่นระเบิดเพื่อมนุษยธรรม เพื่อเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ และสนับสนุนการดำเนินการตามอนุสัญญาออตตาวาของไทย

ที่ประชุมเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศในการรับมือกับความท้าทายของการเก็บกู้ทุ่นระเบิดเพื่อมนุษยธรรม รวมทั้งความมุ่งมั่นของไทยที่จะปราศจากทุ่นระเบิดในอนาคต

Acting Director-General of the Department of European Affairs Meets Director-General of the Thailand Mine Action Center

On 17 March 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Acting Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with General Rangpiracht Yamkaesorn, Director-General of the Thailand Mine Action Center (TMAC), at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Department of European Affairs,
the Department of East Asian Affairs, and the Department of International Organizations.

During the meeting, TMAC provided a comprehensive briefing on its mandate and operations, including Thailand’s implementation of its obligations under the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (Ottawa Convention). TMAC also highlighted ongoing challenges in humanitarian demining efforts.

Both sides discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation with European partners, including the European Union, Luxembourg, Norway, and Azerbaijan. Emphasis was placed on enhancing capacity-building and mobilizing support for Thailand’s humanitarian demining efforts, in line with its commitments under the Ottawa Convention.

The meeting underscored the importance of international collaboration in addressing humanitarian challenges and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to a mine-free future.
