เมื่อวันที่ ๑๔ มีนาคม ๒๕๖๗ นาย Edgar Doerig ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานภูมิภาคอินโด-แปซิฟิก องค์การระหว่างประเทศของกลุ่มประเทศที่ใช้ภาษาฝรั่งเศส                                                  (Organisation internationale de la Francophonie - OIF) ได้พบหารือกับนางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป พร้อมด้วย
นายทรงชัย ชัยปฏิยุทธ รองอธิบดีกรมสนธิสัญญาและกฎหมาย โดยมีผู้แทนจากกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศและสถาบันการต่างประเทศเทวะวงศ์วโรปการเข้าร่วมด้วย

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแนวทางส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับองค์กร OIF ในด้านการพัฒนาทักษะการใช้ภาษาฝรั่งเศสในหลายมิติ อาทิ การพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนภาษาฝรั่งเศส การเชื่อมต่อระหว่างสถาบันการศึกษาที่สอนภาษาฝรั่งเศสกับภาคเอกชน ตลอดจนความร่วมมือระหว่างกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศและสถาบันการต่างประเทศเทวะวงศ์วโรปการกับองค์กร OIF

 ไทยมีสถานะเป็นผู้สังเกตการณ์ OIF ตั้งแต่ปี ๒๕๕๑ โดย OIF เป็นเวทีที่สำคัญของไทย
ในการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับสมาชิก OIF ในการสร้างเครือข่ายมิตรประเทศในเวทีการทูตพหุภาคี

Director of the Indo-Pacific Regional Office of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie paid a courtesy call on Deputy Director-General
of the Department of European Affairs

On March 14, 2024, Mr. Edgar Doerig, Director of the Indo-Pacific Regional Office of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), paid a courtesy call on Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Songchai Chaipatiyut, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Treaties and Legal Affairs and Representatives from Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA).

Both sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and the OIF in developing French language skills across various aspects, including improving French-language teaching, fostering lingkage between French-teaching educational institutions and the private sectors, along with the collaboration between TICA and the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs and the OIF. Furthermore, both sides also discussed the outcomes of Thailand's participation in the latest OIF Ministerial Meeting (Conférence Ministérielle de la Francophonie - CMF), held between 3-5 November 2023, in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Thailand has received an OIF’S observer status since 2008, which gives Thailand an opportunity to engage with OIF’s members as well as to foster partnerships in the multilateral forum.
