เมื่อวันที่ 9 มีนาคม 2564 นายโลเรนโซ กาลันตี เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิตาลีประจำประเทศไทย ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนางจุฬามณี ชาติสุวรรณ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เนื่องในโอกาสที่อธิบดีกรมยุโรปเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายยินดีกับความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างไทยกับอิตาลีทั้งในระดับทวิภาคีและพหุภาคีที่มีพัฒนาการที่ดีมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง และได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือที่เป็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมกัน โดยเฉพาะในด้านเศรษฐกิจ วิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรม นอกจากนี้ ฝ่ายไทยได้ย้ำถึงความสำคัญของความร่วมมือระหว่างอาเซียนกับอิตาลี โดยอิตาลีได้รับสถานะหุ้นส่วนเพื่อการพัฒนา (Development Partner) ของอาเซียน เมื่อวันที่ 9 กันยายน 2563 ทั้งนี้ อธิบดีกรมยุโรปได้แสดงความยินดีต่ออิตาลีในฐานะประธานกลุ่มประเทศเศรษฐกิจขนาดใหญ่ จี20 (G20) และหุ้นส่วนการประชุมสมัชชาประเทศภาคีอนุสัญญาสหประชาชาติว่าด้วยการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศครั้งที่ 26 (COP26) ร่วมกับสหราชอาณาจักร

Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Director-General of the Department of European Affairs.

On 9 March 2021 H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty. Both sides expressed satisfaction with good relations between Thailand and Italy, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels. Moreover, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially in the economic sector as well as science, technology and innovation. The Thai side also reiterated the importance on enhancing cooperation between ASEAN and Italy, where Italy was granted the status of ASEAN’s Development Partner in September 2020. On this occasion, the Director-General also congratulated Italy on its G20 Presidency as well as its partnership with the UK for the COP26.
