การประชุม Political Consultation ไทย - สวีเดน ครั้งที่ ๓

เมื่อวันที่ ๑๘ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๕ เป็นโอกาสครบรอบ 154 ปีการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย – สวีเดน และกระทรวงการต่างประเทศสวีเดนได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมหารือทางการเมือง (Political Consultation) ไทย - สวีเดน ครั้งที่ ๓ ภายหลังจากที่ประเทศไทยได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมฯ ครั้งที่ ๒ เมื่อปี 2563 ที่กรุงเทพฯ ในโอกาสนี้ นาย Niclas Kvarnström อธิบดีกรมเอเชียและแปซิฟิก กระทรวงการต่างประเทศสวีเดน และนายอสิ ม้ามณี อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เป็นประธานร่วมในการประชุม โดยมีนางกาญจนา ภัทรโชค เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงสตอกโฮล์ม และนาย Jon Åström Gröndahl เอกอัครราชทูตราชอาณาจักรสวีเดนประจำประเทศไทย เข้าร่วม ณ กรุงสตอกโฮล์ม ราชอาณาจักรสวีเดน ซึ่งบรรยากาศการประชุมฯ เป็นไปอย่างสร้างสรรค์และเป็นมิตร และประสบผลสำเร็จด้วยดี

ในการประชุมดังกล่าว ที่ประชุมได้ติดตามพัฒนาการของความร่วมมือไทย – สวีเดน ที่โดดเด่นเพื่อขับเคลื่อนความสัมพันธ์ไทย – สวีเดน ในกรอบทวิภาคีและพหุภาคีให้มีผลเป็นรูปธรรมมมากยิ่งขึ้น อาทิ ความร่วมมือด้านการค้าและการลงทุน เทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ ความปลอดภัยทางถนน การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนา และด้านนวัตกรรม ซึ่งเป็นสาขาของความร่วมมือที่มีศักยภาพซึ่งสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงสตอกโฮล์ม ผลักดันผ่านการจัดตั้ง Thailand and Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU) ซึ่งจะเป็นแพลตฟอร์มสำหรับแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และความเชี่ยวชาญด้านนวัตกรรมสำหรับประเทศไทยและกลุ่มประเทศนอร์ดิก นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือในประเด็นความร่วมมือที่มีศักยภาพเพื่อผลักดันต่อไปในอนาคต อาทิ ด้านเทคโนโลยีอวกาศ การท่องเที่ยวอย่างยั่งยืน และการรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยหวังว่าจะมีการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้และความร่วมมืออย่างเข้มข้นมากขึ้นในอนาคต

ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้แลกเปลี่ยนทรรศนะในประเด็นปัจจุบันที่มีความสนใจร่วมกัน อาทิ สถานการณ์ความมั่นคงโลก การสมัครเข้าเป็นสมาชิกสนธิสัญญาแอตแลนติกเหนือ (NATO) ของราชอาณาจักรสวีเดน  การให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรม บทบาทของไทยและอาเซียนในสถานการณ์ในเมียนมา การฟื้นการเจรจาการค้าเสรีระหว่างไทยและสหภาพยุโรป การเจรจาจัดทำกรอบความตกลงว่าด้วยความเป็นหุ้นส่วนและความร่วมมือรอบด้าน (Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation Agreement – PCA) ระหว่างไทยและสหภาพยุโรป และการเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม Stockholm +50 ของราชอาณาจักรสวีเดนในปี ๒๕๖๕

ฝ่ายไทยได้แสดงความพร้อมที่จะจัดการประชุมหารือทางการเมืองไทย - สวีเดน ครั้งที่ ๔ณ กรุงเทพฯ ในโอกาสที่เหมาะสมต่อไป

3^rd Thai – Sweden Political Consultation

On 18 May 2022, Thailand and Sweden commemorated the 154^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden hosted the 3^rd Thai – Swedish Political Consultation in Stockholm, Sweden. Mr. Niclas Kvarnström, Deputy Director-General and Head of the Department for Asia and the Pacific, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, presided as heads of the Swedish and Thai delegations. In attendance were H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, the Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden, and H.E. Mr. Jon Åström Gröndahl, Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand. The meeting was conducted in a constructive and friendly atmosphere and was highly productive for both sides.

Both sides shared updates of the areas of ongoing Thai – Swedish cooperation, including trade and investment, defense technology, road safety, sustainable development, development cooperation, and innovation, which is a prominent area of cooperation that the Royal Thai Embassy in Stockholm has been promoting with the establishment of the Thailand and Nordic Countries Innovation Unit (TNIU). The delegates also discussed the areas with potential for further cooperation between the two countries, such as space technology, sustainable tourism, and environmental conservation.

Additionally, both sides exchanged views on current affairs on which Thailand and Sweden share an interest, including global security, Sweden’s application to NATO, humanitarian assistance, the situation in Myanmar and the roles of Thailand and ASEAN, the Thai – EU FTA negotiations, the Thai – EU PCA negotiations, and the Stockholm +50 Conference to be held later this year.

The Thai side expressed readiness to host the 4^th Thai – Swedish Political Consultation in due time.
