เมื่อวันที่ 17 กรกฎาคม 2567 นางครองขนิษฐ รักษ์เจริญ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เป็นประธานในการประชุม Political Consultations ไทย-เบลารุส ครั้งที่ 1 ณ กรุงมินสค์ สาธารณรัฐเบลารุส ร่วมกับนาย Dmitry Mironchik อธิบดีกรมเอเชีย แอฟริกา และลาตินอเมริกา กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ สาธารณรัฐเบลารุส

          ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคี และขยายความร่วมมือและผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันในสาขาต่าง ๆ อาทิ การค้าและการลงทุน การท่องเที่ยว และกีฬา โดยฝ่ายไทยได้ยืนยันความพร้อม
ในการเริ่มกระบวนการเจรจาจัดทำความตกลงการค้าเสรีกับสหภาพเศรษฐกิจยูเรเชีย (EAEU) และขอรับ
การสนับสนุนจากเบลารุสซึ่งเป็นประเทศสมาชิก รวมทั้งได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ในภูมิภาค อาทิ สถานการณ์ในยูเครน และสถานการณ์ในเมียนมา

          นอกจากนี้ ระหว่างการเยือนสาธารณรัฐเบลารุส อธิบดีกรมยุโรปได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนาย Evgeny Shestakov รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ สาธารณรัฐเบลารุส เพื่อส่งเสริมความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคี รวมทั้งได้พบหารือกับนาย Oleg Andreychik รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงกีฬาและการท่องเที่ยว สาธารณรัฐเบลารุส และนาย Mikhael Miatlikov ประธานหอการค้าและอุตสาหกรรมเบลารุส เพื่อหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือด้านกีฬา และการท่องเที่ยว โดยเฉพาะการเปิดเที่ยวบินตรงไทย-เบลารุส และแสวงหาลู่ทางขยายความร่วมมือ
ทางเศรษฐกิจและการค้า

          การประชุม Political Consultations ถือเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการส่งเสริม ติดตาม และขับเคลื่อน
ความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ โดยการประชุม Political Consultations ครั้งนี้ เป็นการจัดการประชุมครั้งแรก ภายใต้กรอบความตกลงที่ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ลงนามตั้งแต่ปี 2543

The 1^st Thai-Belarusian Political Consultations

On 17 July 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, co-chaired the 1^st Thai-Belurusian Political Consultations, in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, with Mr. Dmitry Mironchik, Director of the Directorate for Asia, Africa, and Latin America, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus.  

          On this occasion, both parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Belarus, particularly in trade, investment, tourism and sports. The Thai side reiterated its willingness to begin negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with
the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and requested Belarus's support in this regard. They also exchanged views on regional issues, such as the situation in Ukraine and Myanmar.

          During this visit to Belarus, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs of Thailand also paid a courtesy call on Mr. Evgeny Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, and met with Mr. Oleg Andreychik, Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism and Mr. Mikhael Miatlikov, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation
in the field of sports and tourism, particularly the possibility of opening direct flights between Thailand and Belarus, as well as discussed ways to increase economic cooperation and trade.

          The Political Consultations is one of the important mechanisms to advance bilateral relations and cooperation. The Thai-Belarusian Political Consultations was the first to be held under the Agreement to establish it signed in 2000.
