เมื่อวันที่ 11-12 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 กรมยุโรปได้จัดกิจกรรม ASEM Day ประจำปี 2568 ร่วมกับคณะรัฐศาสตร์และรัฐประศาสนศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ภายในงาน “รัฐศาสตร์วิชาการครั้งที่ 25” โดยมีนางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป ร่วมกล่าวในพิธีเปิด และมีนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกว่า 150 คน

         กรมยุโรปจัดการบรรยายให้ความรู้ทางวิชาการเกี่ยวกับ Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) และกิจกรรมแข่งขันตอบคำถามแบบกลุ่มเพื่อเสริมสร้างความตระหนักรู้เกี่ยวกับความสัมพันธ์และความร่วมมือระหว่างภูมิภาคเอเชียกับยุโรปและบริบทระหว่างประเทศ ทั้งนี้ กรมยุโรปได้ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับสหภาพยุโรป และการแนะแนวอาชีพนักการทูต เพื่อจุดประกายความสนใจของนักศึกษาเกี่ยวกับงานด้านการต่างประเทศ นอกจากนี้ กรมยุโรปได้จัดกิจกรรม ASEM DAY ร่วมกับเยาวชนจากโรงเรียนสาธิตมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ และคณะมนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ด้วย

          ASEM Day ตรงกับวันที่ 1 มีนาคมของทุกปี ซึ่งเป็นวันครบรอบการจัดการประชุมผู้นำ ASEM ครั้งที่ 1 เมื่อวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2539 ที่กรุงเทพฯ โดย ASEM ยังคงเป็นกรอบการประชุมระหว่างผู้นำเอเชียกับยุโรปเพียงกรอบเดียวจนถึงทุกวันนี้

         On 11-12 February 2025, the Department of European Affairs organized the annual "ASEM Day 2025" in collaboration with the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration of Chiang Mai University during the University's 25^th Political Science Academic Club. Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, delivered the opening remarks to more than 150 students.

         The Department of European Affairs organized an Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) academic lecture and a group quiz competition to raise awareness on relations and cooperation between Asia and Europe. The session also included a lecture on the European Union and sharing of experiences on diplomatic career to spark students’ interest in international affairs. In addition, the Department also organized ASEM Day activities with youth from Chiang Mai University Demonstration School and the Faculty of Humanities of Chiang Mai University.

         ASEM Day is celebrated on 1 March every year to commemorate the founding of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) on 1 March 1996, when the 1st ASEM Summit was held in Bangkok. To this day, ASEM remains the only dialogue forum specifically dedicated to Asia and Europe, and where their Leaders gather on a regular basis.
