เมื่อวันที่ 24 กรกฎาคม 2569 อธิบดีกรมยุโรปได้พบหารือกับนายอิทธิพล เลิศศักดิ์ธนกุล รองกรรมการผู้จัดการ EXIM Bank เพื่อหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือในการสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการไทย
ให้สามารถปรับตัวต่อมาตรการด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมของสหภาพยุโรป (EU)

EXIM Bank แจ้งว่า งานเสวนา “เมื่อโลกเปลี่ยน ธุรกิจต้องปรับ: ความยั่งยืนกับโอกาสใหม่ของผู้ประกอบการไทย” ที่นำเสนอประเด็นสำคัญเกี่ยวกับ PPWR ซึ่งทาง EXIM Bank จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 22 กรกฎาคม 2569 โดยมีผู้แทนกรมยุโรปเข้าร่วมเสวนานั้นได้รับการเผยแพร่ผ่านสื่อกว่า 80 แห่ง และในปีนี้ EXIM Bank มีแผนจัดทำ White Paper เกี่ยวกับมาตรการด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมของสหภาพยุโรป โดยเฉพาะมาตรการกีดกันทางการค้าที่ไม่ใช่ภาษี (Non-Tariff Barriers) และความต้องการความช่วยเหลือจากภาครัฐของผู้ประกอบการ อาทิ EUDR, CBAM และ PPWR โดยกรมยุโรปยินดีสนับสนุนข้อมูลทางวิชาการ

อธิบดีกรมยุโรปย้ำว่า การดำเนินงานของกรมยุโรปมุ่งบูรณาการความร่วมมือกับภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน ภาควิชาการ และสถาบันการเงิน โดยให้ความสำคัญกับการรับฟังปัญหาและความต้องการของ
ผู้ประกอบการ พร้อมประสานงานกับหน่วยงานของสหภาพยุโรปเพื่อสนับสนุนการแก้ไขอุปสรรค และส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียนและความยั่งยืน

ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือความคืบหน้าของมาตรการสำคัญของสหภาพยุโรป รวมถึงแนวทางเตรียมความพร้อมของผู้ประกอบการไทย และเห็นพ้องที่จะต่อยอดความร่วมมือผ่านการจัดกิจกรรม PPWR Series การแลกเปลี่ยนแนวปฏิบัติด้าน ESG กับภาคเอกชน และการจัดเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ด้าน CBAM เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของผู้ประกอบการไทยในตลาดยุโรป

Department of European Affairs and EXIM Bank Strengthen Cooperation to Support Thai Businesses in Adapting to EU Sustainability Measures

On 24 July 2026, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs met with Mr. Ittipol Lertsakthanakul, Deputy Managing Director of Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank), to discuss strengthening cooperation in supporting Thai businesses as they adapt to the European Union’s evolving sustainability and environmental regulations.

During the meeting, the Deputy Managing Director of EXIM Bank highlighted the strong public and media interest generated by the seminar, “Business in a Changing World: Sustainability and New Opportunities for Thai Entrepreneurs,” held on 22 July 2026. The event received extensive media coverage from more than 80 media outlets, reflecting growing awareness among the business community of the importance of sustainability and emerging regulatory developments in the EU market.

The Director-General reaffirmed the Department of European Affairs’ proactive role in working closely with relevant public and private sector stakeholders to identify and address key challenges facing Thai businesses. The Department also continues to engage with relevant European Union institutions and agencies to exchange information, address concerns, and promote measures that enhance the competitiveness of the Thai private sector.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen collaboration through a series of activities focused on the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), knowledge-sharing initiatives on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices with European businesses, and exchanges on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). These initiatives aim to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of Thai businesses, enabling them to seize opportunities and successfully adapt to the evolving regulatory landscape in the European Union market.
