เมื่อวันที่ ๒๗ มีนาคม ๒๕๖๗ นายเยฟเกนี โตมีฮิน (H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin) เอกอัครราชทูตสหพันธรัฐรัสเซียประจำประเทศไทย     ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะและแสดงความยินดีกับนางครองขนิษฐ รักษ์เจริญ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป ในโอกาสเข้ารับหน้าที่

ในโอกาสนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือทวิภาคีที่เป็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมกันในหลากหลายมิติ อาทิ การเยือนระดับสูง    การประชุมระหว่างประเทศ การประชุมตามแผนการหารือระหว่างกระทรวงการต่างประเทศกับกระทรวงการต่างประเทศรัสเซีย แนวทางส่งเสริม การค้าและการลงทุน การส่งออกสินค้าเกษตร การท่องเที่ยว วัฒนธรรม รวมถึงแลกเปลี่ยนความเห็นเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ภูมิภาคที่สนใจร่วมกัน

นอกจากนี้ ฝ่ายไทยได้ยืนยันความพร้อมในการเริ่มกระบวนการเจรจาจัดทำความตกลงการค้าเสรีกับสหภาพเศรษฐกิจยูเรเซีย (Eurasian Economic Union: EAEU) และขอรับการสนับสนุนจากรัสเซียในเรื่องดังกล่าว ทั้งนี้ ไทยได้มีหนังสือแสดงเจตจำนงในการจัดทำความตกลงการค้าเสรีต่อคณะกรรมาธิการสหภาพเศรษฐกิจยูเรเชีย (Eurasian Economic Commission: EEC) เมื่อปี 2559

Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand paid a courtesy call on Director-General of the Department of European Affairs

On 27 March 2024, H.E. Mr. Evgeny Tomikhin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty.

On this occasion, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas such as high-level visits, international meetings, consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of both sides, trade and investment promotion, tourism and cultural cooperation. They also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest.

In addition, the Director-General reiterated Thailand's intention to commence the FTA negotiations between Thailand and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and wished to seek Russia's support on this issue. Thailand already submitted its Letter of Intention for the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC)'s consideration in 2016.
