เมื่อวันที่ 27 กันยายน 2566 นายอสิ ม้ามณี อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานเลี้ยงรับรองคณะทูตานุทูตประเทศภูมิภาคยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย “An Evening with the European Department” ณ วิเทศสโมสร    กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแก่ คณะเอกอัครราชทูต อุปทูต และเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูตภูมิภาคยุโรป ประจำประเทศไทย และผู้แทนภาครัฐ ภาควิชาการ และภาคเอกชนของไทย รวมทั้งผู้บริหารและเจ้าหน้าที่กระทรวงฯ  รวมจำนวนผู้เข้าร่วมงานประมาณ ๑๓๐ คน

          อธิบดีกรมยุโรปได้กล่าวต้อนรับและแสดงความยินดีที่คณะทูตานุทูตภูมิภาคยุโรปทุกท่านให้เกียรติเข้าร่วมงานฯ รวมทั้งเน้นย้ำความสำคัญในการผลักดันและส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างฝ่ายไทยกับประเทศในภูมิภาคยุโรปในด้าน   การทูตวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรม ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในนโยบายสำคัญของรัฐบาล เพื่อรับมือกับความท้าทาย  ระดับโลกร่วมกัน ซึ่งจะเป็นโอกาสอันดีในการยกระดับประเทศไทยในเวทีโลก และขยายความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ      ในยุคโลกใหม่ที่วิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรมมีบทบาทสำคัญในทุกมิติ

          ในโอกาสดังกล่าว กรมยุโรป กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ได้รับเกียรติจากนายชาติศิริ โสภณพนิช กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ ธนาคารกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) มาบรรยายพิเศษ ภายได้หัวข้อ “วิทยาศาสตร์และนวัตกรรม : การขับเคลื่อนสู่อนาคตที่ยั่งยืน” โดยเฉพาะการใช้ประโยชน์จากเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมในการยกระดับการดำเนินธุรกิจ การค้าและการลงทุน เพื่อขับเคลื่อนสู่การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน

          นอกจากนี้ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ฯ ยังได้เน้นย้ำถึงโอกาสการค้าการลงทุน รวมทั้งภูมิทัศน์ทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศไทยและภูมิภาคอาเซียน

          On 27 September 2023, Mr. Asi Mamanee, the Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, presided over "An Evening with the European Department" Reception in honour of the European Diplomatic Corps in Thailand.

          This exclusive reception, held at the Vithes Samosorn, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, brought together the European Diplomatic Corps and the related Thai agencies, academia and Private Sectors. Approximately 130 guests participated in the event, comprising Ambassadors, Charge d'affaires a.i., and Diplomats from the European embassies in Thailand and executives and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

          On this occasion, the Director General delivered the opening remarks, extending a warm welcome to the European Diplomatic Corps. In doing so, the Director-General highlighted a key objective of the Government, which is to prioritise and enhance the collaboration between Thailand and our European counterparts in the fields of science, technology and innovation. The objective of this endeavour is to strengthen relationships, while simultaneously broadening the scope of economic cooperation within the new era where science, technology and innovation are paramount.

          The Department had the privilege of hosting Mr. Chartsiri Sophonpanich, President of Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited, who delivered a keynote speech on the topic of "Science and Innovation: Driving towards a sustainable future." This captivating session shed light on the myriad advantages that technology and innovation bring to the enhancement of business, trade, and investment, propelling towards a sustainable and prosperous future.

          In addition, Mr Chartsiri emphasized the trade and investment opportunities, along with the promising economic landscape in Thailand and the ASEAN region.
