เมื่อวันที่ 16 ตุลาคม 2568 นางครองขนิษฐ รักษ์เจริญ อธิบดีกรมยุโรป และนาง Dominique Kuhling อธิบดีกรมเอเชียและโอเชียเนีย กระทรวงการต่างประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ เป็นประธานร่วมในการประชุมหารือทางการเมือง (Political Consultations) ไทย-เนเธอร์แลนด์
ครั้งที่ 4 ณ กรุงเฮก ราชอาณาจักรเนเธอร์แลนด์

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ทบทวนความคืบหน้าและหารือถึงแนวทางในการเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือในสาขาที่เข้มแข็ง ได้แก่ การค้าและการลงทุน การบริหารจัดการทรัพยากรน้ำ และเทคโนโลยีทางการเกษตรและอาหาร พร้อมทั้งแสวงหาโอกาสความร่วมมือใหม่ ๆ อาทิ พลังงานสะอาด เซมิคอนดักเตอร์ และการปกป้องโครงสร้างพื้นฐานสำคัญทางทะเล ทั้งนี้ ฝ่ายเนเธอร์แลนด์แสดงความพร้อมที่จะสนับสนุนไทยในการเจรจา FTA ไทย-อียู และการยกเว้นการตรวจลงตราเชงเกน (Schengen Visa) แก่ผู้ถือหนังสือเดินทางธรรมดาของไทย เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นต่อประเด็นสิทธิมนุษยชน และสถานการณ์ระดับภูมิภาคและระดับโลก

ในห้วงการเยือนเนเธอร์แลนด์ในครั้งนี้ อธิบดีกรมยุโรปยังได้เข้าพบหารือกับ ศ. ดร. Tom Veldkamp อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัย Twente
ราชอาณาจักรเนเธอร์แลนด์ เพื่อผลักดันความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลให้รองรับการเติบโตของเทคโนโลยี และนวัตกรรมใหม่ ๆ
โดยได้เยี่ยมชมศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนานวัตกรรมเซมิคอนดักเตอร์และเทคโนโลยีชิปขั้นสูง ChipTech Twente และศูนย์วิจัยและพัฒนานวัตกรรมนาโนเทคโนโลยี Nanolab ของมหาวิทยาลัยฯ ด้วย

อนึ่ง ปี 2567 ในโอกาสครบรอบ 420 ปี การสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-เนเธอร์แลนด์ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้จัดกิจกรรมเฉลิมฉลองวาระดังกล่าว อาทิ การจัดงานเสวนาพิเศษหัวข้อ Water Diplomacy : 420 years and Solutions to Flood Prevention ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เมื่อวันที่ 24 กันยายน 2567 โดยปัจจุบัน เนเธอร์แลนด์เป็นนักลงทุนอันดับหนึ่งและเป็นคู่ค้าอันดับสองของไทยในอียู และมีบทบาทสำคัญในการแบ่งปันเทคโนโลยีและองค์ความรู้ด้านการบริหารจัดการทรัพยากรน้ำและการรับมือกับอุทกภัยแก่หน่วยงานไทย

Director-General of the Department of European Affairs Attends the 4th Thailand–Netherlands Political Consultations in the Hague

On 16 October 2025, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mrs. Dominique Kuhling, Director-General of the Asia and Oceania Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, co-chaired the 4th Thailand–Netherlands Political Consultations in The Hague, Netherlands.
Both sides reviewed progress and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation in key areas, including trade and investment, water resource management, and agri-food technology. They also explored new areas of cooperation such as clean energy, semiconductors, and the protection of critical undersea infrastructure.
The Dutch side also expressed its readiness to support Thailand in the Thailand–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations and the consideration of Schengen visa exemption for holders of ordinary Thai passports, among others. In addition, the two sides exchanged views on human rights and regional and global issues.

During her visit to the Netherlands, the Director-General also met with Rector Magnificus Professor Dr. Tom Veldkamp of the University of Twente to discuss ways to promote human resource development in support of the growth of emerging technologies and innovation. She also toured ChipTech Twente, the university’s research and innovation centre for advanced semiconductor and chip technologies, and Nanolab, the university’s research and innovation centre for nanotechnology.

Last year marked the 420th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the Netherlands, which was commemorated through a series of celebratory events, including a special seminar titled “Water Diplomacy: 420 Years and Solutions to Flood Prevention,” held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 24 September 2024. The Netherlands is currently Thailand’s largest investor and second-largest trading partner in the European Union, and plays an important role in sharing technology and expertise on water resource management and flood prevention with Thai agencies.
