เมื่อวันที่ 20 กรกฎาคม 2569 นางสาวสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก อธิบดีกรมยุโรป ได้พบหารือกับเอกอัครราชทูตกิตติ วะสีนนท์ อดีตเอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำสหราชอาณาจักร และศาสตราจารย์ ดร. สเตฟาน คอลินญอง (Prof. Dr. Stefan Collignon) ศาสตราจารย์ด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์การเมืองจาก London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) เพื่อหารือถึงความเป็นไปได้ในการดำเนินความร่วมมือด้านการอุดมศึกษา โดยมี

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. คอลินญอง เสนอให้มีความร่วมมือกับมูลนิธิ Judith and Stefan Collignon Foundation เพื่อสนับสนุนให้มีนักการทูตจากประเทศไทยไปศึกษาต่อ ณ LSE European Institute โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องที่จะหารือร่วมกันต่อไปเพื่อผลักดันแนวคิดนี้ให้เกิดผลเป็นรูปธรรม

On 20 July 2026, Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, met with Ambassador Kitti Wasinondh, former Thai Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Prof. Dr. Stefan Collignon, Professor of Political Economy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), to discuss possible cooperation in the area of higher education. The meeting was also attended by Director Chuchart Jirokul, Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, representatives from the Personnel Management Bureau and Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).

Prof. Dr. Collignon proposed cooperation with the Judith and Stefan Collignon Foundation to support diplomats from Thailand in pursuing studies at the LSE European Institute. Both sides agreed to further explore how to carry this proposal forward.
