เมื่อวันที่ ๑๓ กันยายน ๒๕๖๖ นางสาวมารินี สุวรรณโมลี รองอธิบดีกรมยุโรป พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนจากมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี (มจธ.) และสำนักงานพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี (สวทช.) ได้พบหารือกับนาย Oscar Schlyter รองอธิบดีกรมเอเชีย แปซิฟิคและละตินอเมริกา กระทรวงการต่างประเทศสวีเดน เพื่อหารือแนวทางส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างกันโดยเฉพาะด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และนวัตกรรม

ในโอกาสเดียวกัน คณะได้พบหารือกับหน่วยงานของสวีเดน ได้แก่ สถาบัน Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) และ Sting ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรส่งเสริม Startup ทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นพ้องที่จะมีความร่วมมือระหว่างกันในการส่งเสริม Startup ตลอดจนศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ในการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อดำเนินการศึกษาวิจัยในสาขาที่มีความสนใจร่วมกันต่อไป

ความริเริ่มดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการดำเนินยุทธศาสตร์การทูตเศรษฐกิจและวิทยาศาสตร์ของกรมยุโรป
ผ่านการขยายเครือข่ายความร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานที่มีศักยภาพ โดยมุ่งเน้นการศึกษาวิจัยเพื่อสนับสนุนภาคธุรกิจและอุตสาหกรรมโดยเฉพาะ Startup เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนาของสังคมไทย

On 13 September 2023, Ms. Marinee Suwanmoli, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, along with representatives from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) met with Mr. Oscar Schlyter, Deputy Head of the Department for Asia, the Pacific Region and Latin America, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, to discuss collaboration between the two countries, especially on science and innovation.

On this occasion, the delegation also met with Sweden’s leading research institutes and startup associations, such as Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) and Sting. Both sides agreed to initiate cooperation to promote startup ecosystem and establish a network between Thai and Swedish research institutes as well as to explore the possibilities of conducting joint research on the issue of mutual interests.

This initiative is a part of Department of European Affairs’ science and economic diplomacy strategy with the goal of advancing new partnerships network among potential Thai agencies, focusing on leveraging academic research to support business sectors, particularly startups, and enhancing national economic competitiveness and social development.
