เมื่อวันที่ 29 กันยายน 2569 ผู้แทนกรมยุโรปเข้าร่วมการประชุมรับฟังการพิจารณาร่างแผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ ฉบับที่ 14 (พ.ศ. 2571-2575) จัดโดยสำนักงานสภาพัฒนาการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ (สศช.) โดยนายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงมหาดไทย เป็นประธานเปิดการประชุมและกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษ ย้ำการยกระดับขีดความสามารถ
ในการแข่งขันของประเทศ สร้างโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจ พัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตประชาชน และเตรียมความพร้อมรับมือกับความท้าทายจากบริบทโลกที่เปลี่ยนแปลง นอกจากนี้ ได้มีการจัดเสวนาในหัวข้อ “ประเทศไทยในโลกที่ไม่เหมือนเดิม: เปลี่ยนอย่างไรให้ไปต่อ” โดยรองนายกรัฐมนตรีทั้ง 5 คนร่วมแสดงวิสัยทัศน์เกี่ยวกับการขับเคลื่อนประเทศในด้านสำคัญต่าง ๆ
ในโอกาสนี้ นายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการต่างประเทศ ได้ย้ำการดำเนินการทูตเชิงรุกผ่าน 4D (Diplomacy of Strategy, Speed, Coherence, Communication) พร้อมเร่งแสวงหาโอกาสตลาดการลงทุนใหม่ๆ อาทิ คาซัคสถานและแอฟริกา นอกจากนี้ ได้มีการย้ำถึงการส่งเสริมการลงทุนและความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและเอกชน การพัฒนา SMEs
และอุตสาหกรรมแห่งอนาคต การขยายตลาดการค้าและการลงทุนสู่ยุโรปและตลาดใหม่ การผลักดันการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย-สหภาพยุโรป (TH-EU FTA) การดำเนินการทูตเชิงรุก
การเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD การปฏิรูประบบราชการ และการพัฒนาทุนมนุษย์ควบคู่กับการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัย และนวัตกรรม ซึ่งสะท้อนความจำเป็นในการเร่งปรับโครงสร้างประเทศ

Representatives from Department of European Affairs Attended Public Consultation on Thailand’s Fourteenth National Economic and Social Development Plan.
On 29 September 2026, representatives of the Department of European Affairs attended a public consultation on the draft of Thailand’s 14th National Economic and Social Development Plan (2028-2032), organized by the Office of National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC). The event was inaugurated by H.e. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who delivered a key note address stressing the importance of enhancing Thailand’s competitiveness, expanding economic opportunities, improving the quality of life for citizens, and preparing the country to address challenges arising from a rapidly changing global environment.
The event also featured a panel discussion entitled “Thailand in a Changing World: How to Adapt and Move Forward”, during which all five Deputy Prime Ministers shared their visions for advancing Thailand’s development across key sectors. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of pursuing proactive diplomacy through the 4D approach: Diplomacy of Strategy, Speed, Coherence, and Communication.
He highlighted efforts to explore new investments and trade opportunities in emerging markets, including Kazakhstan and Africa. Other panelists also stressed
the importance of promoting investment and public-private partnerships, supporting SMEs and future industries, expanding trade and investment ties with Europe and other new markets, advancing negotiations on the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement (TH-EU FTA), pursuing Thailand’s accession to the OECD, reforming the public sector, and enhancing human capital alongside the promotion of science, research, and innovation. These priorities reflect the shared recognition of the urgent need to accelerate structural reforms in order to strengthen Thailand’s competitiveness and better prepare the country for future global changes and challenges.
