เมื่อวันที่ 15 กันยายน 2569 นางสาววรมน สินสุวรรณ ผู้อำนวยการกองสหภาพยุโรป เป็นผู้แทนกรมยุโรป กล่าวเปิดเวทีเสวนาในหัวข้อ “Reporting Southeast Asia Today: Journalism at the Crossroads of Global Change” ณ สมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวต่างประเทศแห่งประเทศไทย (Foreign Correspondents Club Thailand: FCCT) โดยมีนางจุฬามณี ชาติสุวรรณ มนตรีฝ่ายไทยประจำมูลนิธิเอเชีย-ยุโรป (Asia-Europe Foundation: ASEF) เข้าร่วม

ในห้วงพิธีเปิด ผู้อำนวยการกองสหภาพยุโรปกล่าวถึงการเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็วของวงการสื่อสารมวลชนจากเทคโนโลยีใหม่ สื่อสังคมออนไลน์ และพัฒนาการของโลก ซึ่งส่งผลต่อกระบวนการผลิต เผยแพร่ และรับข่าวสาร พร้อมเน้นย้ำความสำคัญของการแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองและประสบการณ์ระหว่างผู้สื่อข่าวจากภูมิภาคยุโรปและเอเชีย ด้าน Ms. Beata Stoczyńska ผู้อำนวยการบริหาร ASEF กล่าวว่า ภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้เกิดความเปลี่ยนแปลงอย่างรวดเร็ว ทำให้สื่อมวลชนเผชิญความท้าทายในการนำเสนอข่าวอย่างรวดเร็ว ในขณะที่ต้องรักษาความถูกต้องและความเป็นอิสระในการทำข่าว ด้านอธิการบดีจุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัยและประธาน ASEM LLL Hub กล่าววถึงความสำคัญของเทคโนโลยีปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (Artificial Intelligence: AI) ต่อชีวิตของนิสิตและนักศึกษาในปัจจุบัน และย้ำความสำคัญในการพัฒนาศักยภาพของมนุษย์ในเหนือกว่า AI

ในห้วงของการเสวนา ผู้สื่อข่าวจากประเทศสมาชิกการประชุมเอเชีย-ยุโรป (Asia-Europe Meeting: ASEM) 20 ประเทศ ได้รับฟังการบรรยายจากผู้สื่อข่าวต่างชาติที่รายงานข่าวจากประเทศไทย และได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในหลากหลายประเด็น อาทิ ความเปลี่ยนแปลงในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และความเป็นศูนย์กลางระดับภูมิภาคด้านสื่อของไทย

การเสวนาดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการสัมมนา ASEF Journalists Seminar ครั้งที่ 15 จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 14 – 17 กันยายน 2569 ณ กรุงเทพฯ ในหัวข้อ Journalistic Resilience in a Volatile World การสัมมนาดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นครั้งแรกในปี 2541 เพื่อเป็นเวทีให้สื่อมวลชนจากภูมิภาคเอเชียและยุโรปได้แลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองและประสบการณ์ โดยครั้งนี้เป็นครั้งแรกที่ประเทศไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพการสัมมนาดังกล่าว

On 15 September 2026, Ms. Woramon Sinsuwan, Director of the European Union Division, represented the Department of European Affairs at the panel discussion on “Reporting Southeast Asia Today: Journalism at the Crossroads of Global Change” at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club Thailand (FCCT). Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Thai Governor to the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), also attended the event.

In her opening remarks, the Director of the European Union Division highlighted the transformation of the media landscape brought about by new technologies, social media and global developments, which have affected the way news is produced, disseminated and consumed. She also emphasised the importance of exchanging perspectives and experiences among journalists from Europe and Asia. Ms. Beata Stoczyńska, Executive Director of ASEF, noted that Southeast Asia is undergoing rapid changes, presenting journalists with challenges in delivering news quickly while maintaining accuracy and editorial independence. Meanwhile, the President of Chulalongkorn University and Chair of the ASEM LLL Hub highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the lives of students today and stressed the importance of developing human capabilities to stay ahead of AI.

During the panel discussion, journalists from 20 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) member countries heard from foreign correspondents reporting from Thailand and exchanged views on a range of issues, including Southeast Asia’s development achievements and Thailand’s role as a regional media hub.

This event was part of the 15th ASEF Journalists Seminar, held from 14 to 17 September 2026 in Bangkok under the theme “Journalistic Resilience in a Volatile World.” First organised in 1998, the Seminar provides a platform for journalists from Asia and Europe to exchange perspectives and experiences. This year marks the first time that Thailand has hosted the ASEF Journalists Seminar.
