เมื่อวันที่ 2 ธันวาคม 2564 นายโลเรนโซ กาลันตี เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิตาลีประจำประเทศไทย ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนายอสิ ม้ามณี อธิบดีกรมยุโรป เนื่องในโอกาสที่อธิบดีกรมยุโรปเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยินดีกับความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างไทยกับอิตาลีทั้งในระดับทวิภาคีและพหุภาคีที่มีพัฒนาการที่ดีมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง และได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือที่เป็นผลประโยชน์ร่วมกัน โดยเฉพาะในด้านการค้าและการลงทุน การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน การท่องเที่ยว และวัฒนธรรม นอกจากนี้ ฝ่ายอิตาลีได้เสนอส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับอิตาลีในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขงในด้านต่าง ๆ อาทิ การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนและความเชื่อมโยง ทั้งนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ย้ำถึงความสำคัญของความร่วมมือระหว่างอาเซียนกับอิตาลี โดยเฉพาะกับศูนย์อาเซียนเพื่อการศึกษาและการหารือด้านการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue – ACSDSD) ภายหลังจากที่อิตาลีได้รับสถานะเป็นประเทศหุ้นส่วนด้านการพัฒนาของอาเซียนเมื่อปี 2563

Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand paid a courtesy call on Director-General of the Department of European Affairs.

On 2 December 2021, H.E. Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Ambassador of Italy to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on  Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty. Both sides expressed satisfaction with good relations between Thailand and Italy, both at the bilateral and multilateral levels. Moreover, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially on trade and investment, sustainable development, tourism and culture. The Italian side expressed its interest in enhancing cooperation with Thailand in the Mekong Sub-Region in areas such as sustainability and connectivity. Both sides also emphasized the importance on enhancing cooperation between ASEAN and Italy, especially with the ASEAN Centre for Sustainable Development Studies and Dialogue (ACSDSD) following Italy’s status as Development Partner of ASEAN since 2020.
