เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะรองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ

เมื่อวันที่ ๑๒ ตุลาคม ๒๕๖๕ นายริกการ์โด ปาแตร์เนาะ ดี มอนเตกูโป นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศรัฐอธิปไตยทหาร ออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา พร้อมด้วย ฟรา อาเลสซันโดร เด ฟันซิสซิส รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงสาธารณสุข นายไมเคิล ดักลัส มานน์ เอกอัครราชทูตรัฐอธิปไตยทหาร ออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา ประจำประเทศไทย และคณะ เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนายดอน ปรมัตถ์วินัย รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนประเทศไทยเพื่อเป็นประธานการประชุมภูมิภาคเอเชีย - แปซิฟิกของผู้แทนรัฐอธิปไตยทหาร ออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา ครั้งที่ 11 ระหว่างวันที่ 11 - 13 ตุลาคม 2565 ณ กรุงเทพฯ

รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้รับทราบการดำเนินกิจกรรมและโครงการความช่วยเหลือของรัฐอธิปไตยทหาร ออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา ด้านมนุษยธรรมในหลายประเทศ รวมทั้งประเทศไทย นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเรื่องแนวทางการกระชับความร่วมมือ ทั้งในระดับทวิภาคี และไตรภาคี รวมถึงได้หารือถึงเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์ในภูมิภาค และแนวทางเพื่อบรรลุสันติภาพในพื้นที่ขัดแย้ง

ที่ผ่านมา รัฐอธิปไตยทหาร ออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา ดำเนินภารกิจด้านมนุษยธรรมในไทยผ่านองค์กร Malteser International ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานบรรเทาทุกข์ของออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา อาทิ โครงการด้านสาธารณสุขที่ศูนย์พักพิงชั่วคราวบ้านแม่ลามาหลวงและบ้านแม่ละอูน จังหวัดแม่ฮ่องสอน

การประชุมภูมิภาคเอเชีย - แปซิฟิกของผู้แทนออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา จะจัดเป็นประจำทุกปี เพื่อวางแผนการดำเนินงานด้านการให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรมในภูมิภาค ทั้งนี้ ในประเทศไทย ได้มีการจัดตั้งสมาคมออร์เดอร์ ออฟ มอลตา ประเทศไทย (Order of Malta Thailand) เพื่อวัตถุประสงค์เดียวกันด้วย

Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta

paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

On 12 October 2022, H.E. Mr. Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, together with H.E. Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis, Grand Hospitaller of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, and H.E. Mr. Michael Douglas Mann, Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Grand Chancellor was on a visit to Thailand to chair the 11^th Asia Pacific Conference in Bangkok from 11 - 13 October 2022.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his appreciation to the humanitarian assistance carried out in Thailand and elsewhere by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Both sides also exchanged views on further bilateral and trilateral cooperation, as well as the regional situation and ways to bring peace to the conflict areas.

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta provides humanitarian assistance to the needy in Thailand through Malteser International. Past projects included health projects in Mae Ra Ma Luang and Mae La Oon shelters, in Mae Hong Son province.

The Asia Pacific Conference (APC) of the Order of Malta is an annual conference to plan humanitarian assistance programmes in the region. In Thailand, the Association of the Order of Malta Thailand was also established to join in the humanitarian efforts.
