เมื่อวันที่ ๑๗ มกราคม ๒๕๖๕ นายอสิ ม้ามณี อธิบดีกรมยุโรป พร้อมด้วยนางสมฤดี พู่พรอเนก รองอธิบดี และข้าราชการ กองยุโรปตะวันตก ได้เข้าร่วมการหารือในระหว่างอาหารกลางวันซึ่งนายตีแยรี มาตู เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศสประจำประเทศไทยเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดขึ้นที่ทำเนียบเอกอัครราชทูตฝรั่งเศส โดยมีนายเรมี ล็องแบร์ รองหัวหน้าสำนักงาน และนักการทูตประจำสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศสฯ เข้าร่วมด้วย

ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือความร่วมมือที่อยู่ในความสนใจรวมถึงกิจกรรมที่จะจัดขึ้นในปี ๒๕๖๕ อาทิ การแลกเปลี่ยนการเยือนระดับสูง การลงนามแผนการ (Roadmap) สำหรับการดำเนินความสัมพันธ์ไทย-ฝรั่งเศส (ค.ศ. ๒๐๒๒-๒๐๒๔) ซึ่งจะนำไปสู่การยกระดับความเป็นหุ้นส่วนยุทธศาสตร์ระหว่างกัน รวมถึงการบริจาควัคซีน Pfizer จากฝรั่งเศสให้แก่ไทย นอกจากนี้ ฝ่ายฝรั่งเศสได้เชิญฝ่ายไทยเข้าร่วมการประชุมในกรอบพหุภาคีต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ การประชุมรัฐมนตรีต่างประเทศอินโด-แปซิฟิก และการประชุมระดับผู้นำ One Ocean Summit ซึ่งฝรั่งเศสจะเป็นเจ้าภาพในเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ ศกนี้

Working Lunch between Director-General of the Department of European Affairs and the Ambassador of France in Thailand

On 17 January 2022, Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs together with Ms. Somrudee Poopornanake, Deputy Director-General, and the team from the Western Europe Division, attended a working lunch hosted by H.E. Mr. Thierry Mathou, Ambassador of France to Thailand at the Ambassador’s Residence with the participation of Mr. Rémi Lambert, Deputy Head of Mission and other diplomats from the Embassy of France.

Both sides discussed cooperation of mutual interests as well as activities that will take place in 2022 such as exchanges of high-level visist, signing of the “Roadmap for Thai-French Relations (2022-2024)” which will seek to elevate the Thai-French relations to a strategic partnership and the donation of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to Thailand. On this occasion, the French side extended its invitation to Thailand to attend upcoming meetings in multilateral framework such as the Ministerial Forum on Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific and the One Ocean Summit to be held in France in February 2022.
