เมื่อวันที่ ๘ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๔ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูคาเรสต์ ร่วมกับ สถาบันธรณีวิทยาทางทะเลและระบบนิเวศทางธรณีวิทยาแห่งชาติโรมาเนีย (Romanian National Institute of Geology and Geoecology - GeoEcoMar) จัดการสัมมนาออนไลน์ (webinar) เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือไทย-โรมาเนียในด้านการบริหารจัดการชายฝั่งอย่างยั่งยืน

การสัมมนาดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์และองค์ความรู้ระหว่างนักวิจัยไทยและโรมาเนียที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการบริหารจัดการชายฝั่งอย่างยั่งยืน เช่น การพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีระบบเตือนภัยล่วงหน้า การป้องกันการกัดเซาะชายฝั่งโดยใช้ธรรมชาติ การพัฒนาระบบติดตามตรวจสอบและประเมินสถานการณ์ชายฝั่ง รวมทั้งได้หารือเกี่ยวกับขอบเขตความร่วมมือเบื้องต้นที่สามารถพัฒนาร่วมกันได้ในอนาคต เพื่อต่อยอดไปสู่การทำโครงการวิจัยร่วมกันในบริบทเอเชีย-ยุโรป

นายชัยรัตน์ พรทิพย์วรเวทย์ เอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงบูคาเรสต์ กล่าวเปิดการสัมมนาออนไลน์ โดยเน้นย้ำถึงการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างไทยกับโรมาเนียในการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน ในการสัมมนาดังกล่าวมีผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากฝ่ายไทย ได้แก่ นายปิ่นสักก์ สุรัสวดี ผู้ตรวจราชการกระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ผศ.ดร. พลชาติ โชติการ ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันทรัพยากรทะเลและชายฝั่งและสมาชิกสถานวิจัยสมุทรศาสตร์ชายฝั่งและการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ ผศ.ดร. สมปรารถนา ฤทธิ์พริ้ง อาจารย์ประจำภาควิชาวิศวกรรมทรัพยากรน้ำ คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ และ ผศ.ดร. ธนัสพงษ์ โภควนิช อาจารย์ประจำคณะประมง มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ และผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากฝ่ายโรมาเนีย ได้แก่ ดร. Viorel Vulturescu อธิบดีกรมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ กระทรวงการวิจัย นวัตกรรม และการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ระบบดิจิทัลโรมาเนีย (Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization) และ ศ.ดร. Adrian Stanica ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ สถาบัน GeoEcoMar เข้าร่วมเป็นวิทยากร โดยมี ศ.ดร. Gheorghe Viorel Ungureanu รองผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ สถาบัน GeoEcoMar เป็นผู้ดำเนินรายการ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีผู้แทนจากสำนักงานพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีอวกาศและภูมิสารสนเทศ (องค์การมหาชน) สถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง กรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง และสำนักงานนโยบายและแผนทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม เข้าร่วมในการสัมมนาด้วย

Webinar on “Coastal and Marine Challenges: learning from experiences of Thailand and Romania”

On 8 July 2021, the Royal Thai Embassy, Bucharest, in collaboration with the Romanian Institute of Geology and Geoecology (GeoEcoMar), organised a webinar on
“Coastal and Marine Challenges: learning from experiences of Thailand and Romania” to initiate cooperation between Thailand and Romania on sustainable coastal management.

The webinar aimed to promote experience and knowledge sharing among Thai and Romanian researchers on sustainable coastal management such as development of early warning system technology, prevention of coastal erosion using natural coastal buffers, development of coastal monitoring system, as well as to preliminarily identify potential cooperation topics which could provide opportunities for joint research projects in the Asia-Europe context in the future.

H.E. Mr. Chairat Porntipwarawet, Ambassador of Thailand to Romania, opened the webinar by highlighting the importance of cooperation between Thailand and Romania in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The webinar was joined by experts and researchers from Thailand and Romania, namely Dr. Pinsak Suraswadi, Inspector General, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, Assistant Professor Dr. Ponlachart Chotikarn, Director of Marine and Coastal Resources Institute and Member of Coastal Oceanography and Climate Change Research Center (COCC), Prince of Songkla University, Assistant Professor Dr. Sompratana Ritphring, Lecturer, Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Assistant Professor Dr. Tanuspong Pokavanich, Lecturer, Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University, Dr. Viorel Vulturescu, Director of International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitalization of Romania, Professor Dr. Adrian Stanica, Director General, GeoEcoMar, and Professor Dr. Gheorghe Viorel Ungureanu, Deputy Director General, GeoEcoMar. Representatives from relevant Thai agencies, namely the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organisation), the Marine and Coastal Resources Research and Development Institute, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, and the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), also participated in the webinar.
